Answers to the questions we hear most before someone books. If yours isn't here, call 973-281-4921 or book a free discovery call.
Yes. We offer a complimentary discovery call where you can ask any questions you may have and see if Thrive is a good fit for you.
Thrive is currently in-network with many Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield plans (EPO/EPO PLUS, INDEMNITY, PPO) and out-of-network with all other insurances. Upon request, you will receive a superbill for each visit including treatment and diagnosis codes to submit to insurance for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Please reach out with any questions you may have regarding your benefits.
The duration of pelvic floor therapy varies depending on each individual's condition and carryover at home or between sessions. Some individuals may experience significant improvement in symptoms after a few sessions, while others may require ongoing therapy for several weeks or months.
Whatever is comfortable for you to move in.
Yes. Internal assessment and treatment can be very helpful to understand pelvic floor muscle tone, coordination, and pain, and to track progress with treatment. It is completely optional, and we can discuss whether it would be helpful for you at your discovery call or initial evaluation.
We complete a thorough evaluation where we review your medical, symptom, and pain history, in addition to any relevant factors contributing to your condition, including bladder, bowel, and sexual health. We assess your posture, strength, range of motion, balance, and breath. We create goals together that are important to you, and we provide you with a custom exercise plan each visit.
Treatment varies per person and condition, but includes therapeutic exercise and activity, self care and health management recommendations including diet, hydration and sleep considerations, bladder retraining, neuromuscular re-education, stress and emotional health management, manual therapy including myofascial release, massage, scar tissue mobilization and management, and home exercise programs.
We specialize in treating adult women, whether you are seeking help for bladder or bowel challenges, discomfort with intimacy or medical exams, pregnancy, postpartum, prolapse, or challenges related to menstruation or menopause. We also support women with chronic conditions like low back and tailbone pain, recurring UTIs and bacterial or yeast infections, and overall weakness or diastasis recti.
Yes. Pediatric pelvic floor therapy can be wonderfully helpful for children who experience bedwetting, daytime accidents, constipation, stool withholding or pain with voiding, sensory challenges around toileting, frequent UTIs, or difficulty with toilet training. During an evaluation, we look at your child's developmental milestones, strength, balance, coordination, daily habits, routines, and environment, and we discuss any emotional and sensory concerns. We then create a personalized, play-based treatment plan to help your child build confidence and achieve independent toileting.
Yes. Telehealth sessions and home visits are available as needed. Home visits depend on distance from our office.
Our office is located on the second floor and is accessible only via stairs. We want to ensure everyone can comfortably work with us. If you have any mobility limitations, please contact us directly to schedule. We are fully equipped and happy to provide virtual consultations or schedule a home visit (depending on distance from our office) to meet your needs.
Being out-of-network with insurance allows appointments to be longer, 1:1, and customized to focus on whatever you need each session. Clients have access to reach out between sessions with questions and for modifications or progressions of their treatment program.
